Jill Garlock
Director/Dance and Tumbling Instructor
Jill has been teaching dance to all ages and genres for 30 years. She received her degree from The School of the Hartford Ballet. This was a unique post secondary school specializing in dance education, where she trained in the Russian ballet curriculum, Vaganova methodology. Upon graduating from The School of the Hartford Ballet’s Teachers Training School, Jill taught for Columbus Youth Ballet, Dublin Dance Centre, and served as dance coordinator at the Delaware County Cultural Arts Center. Her commitment to learning, teaching, and growing as an artist are evident in The Arts Center’s success. Jill has continued her dance education by attending Dance Masters of America’s Teachers Training School and Dance Teacher Summit. She is certified to teach by Dance Masters of America in ballet, tap, and jazz. She is a member of Dance Masters of America and a current board member of Ohio Dance Masters. Additionally, her choreography has won accolades on both the regional and national level. In the summer of 2018, the studio was honored by Star Dance Alliance for the highest scoring numbers in teen and senior level in the nation. Her dancers have won several high point awards, judges awards, technique awards, scholarships, and choreography awards. She has had the pleasure of choreographing for several local organizations including, Shawnee High School, Lima Central Catholic High School, Lima Symphony Orchestra, and Lima Junior Service League. Jill’s passion for dance and love of teaching creates a unique experience for her students. She enjoys teaching her early childhood dancers through pre-professional dancers. Jill is a driving force that makes her students excel and strives to offer the finest in dance education.
